Maree Wilms
Director and Founder
Maree co-founded Zeta in 2017. She is the director and chief executive officer of Zeta Asset Management and Zeta Fund Services and has over 25 years’ experience in the asset management and fund industry. Maree started her career at Adelphi Capital, a London based hedge fund manager, where she was involved in structuring, capital raising and launching of funds. She was then appointed to the investment team and worked as an Investment Analyst, specialising in large- cap UK & European stocks, with a focus on the retail, food and luxury goods sector. In 2010, Maree joined South Africa Alpha Capital Management as their Chief Operating Officer, where she played a key role in structuring and raising capital for over 30 Cayman and Guernsey domiciled funds, reaching a peak AUM of close to $1 billion. Maree also sits on several fund boards and has been appointed as a Chair of the South African Chamber of Commerce UK Women’s Chapter. Maree graduated with a 1st class LLB (Hons) degree and holds an Investment Management Certificate issued by the CFA Society (UK).
Jonathan Hertz
Director and Founder
Jonathan co-founded Zeta in 2017 and Jonathan is an executive director of Zeta Asset Management. After qualifying as an actuary, Jonathan was appointed managing director of Safrican, a leading low-cost insurer in South Africa before joining Peregrine in 2000 as Chief Operating Officer.In 2006, Jonathan co-founded Caveo Fund Solutions, a fund of hedge fund business, as a joint venture between Peregrine and Investment Solutions. Today, the business is the largest fund of hedge funds in South Africa with more than ZAR10bn in assets under management. In May 2008, he founded South Africa Alpha Capital Management (“SAACM”), a Bermuda domiciled investment management business housing the US Dollar class of several of the leading hedge funds trading in Sub-Saharan African securities. SAACM currently manages and advises funds with around USD750 million in assets under management. In 2013, he joined Peregrine Holdings Limited as their Chief Executive Officer, a post he held until August 2017.
Chris Bunney
Head of Governance, Risk and Compliance
Chris sits across the respective business as Head of Governance, Risk and Compliance. Chris started his career with a local administration company with exposure to worldwide funds and asset managers. He specialises in the corporate secretarial, compliance, and governance sectors and has experience with local and international requirements concerning financial crime, cyber security, and data protection. Chris graduated with a First Class BA (Hons) degree from the University of Southampton and holds the ICSA Level 5 Diploma in International Finance and Administration and the ICA International Diploma in Governance, Risk, and Compliance.
Claire Prince
Fund Operations
Claire is a member of the fund operations team at Zeta Asset Management. Claire has over 7 years’ experience working in both securities operations and in the dealing room for an international bank. Claire holds a BSc in Mathematics with Education from the University of Plymouth and she has also completed the CSCI Level 3 Award for Introduction to Investment.
Dean Moulder
Head of Legal
Dean sits across the business as Group Head of Legal. He has 8 years’ experience in private practice and was a partner at Ramsay Webber attorneys in Johannesburg where he dealt with financial services and insurance litigation and reporting for numerous high street banks and insurers. Prior to joining Zeta, Dean worked for 5 years for a UK financial services and remittance provider and Guernsey based regulated entity as their Chief Legal Officer. He specialises across areas such as corporate governance, regulatory and compliance, secretarial, M&A, and contractual and commercial drafting. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of the Witwatersrand.
Bruce Otto
Director
Bruce is the Managing Director of Zeta Asset Management and has over 14 years of experience in the financial services industry across multiple jurisdictions and asset classes. Prior to joining Zeta, Bruce was an Advisory Director and Head of Capital Markets for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in the Channel Islands, working closely with investment managers, service providers and investment funds in the Channel Islands and further afield delivering on Initial Public Offerings, financial due diligence, regulatory compliance & remediations projects, and consulting services; and prior to that Bruce gained extensive experience in the funds industry from auditing various investment managers and investment funds. Bruce trained as a Chartered Accountant (SA) with PwC in South Africa and New York before settling in Guernsey in 2017.
